Mr. B’s-

Branson’s oldest Ice Cream Shoppe

—General Experience

When I was a kid, we used to go to Mr. B’s on a weekly basis with our neighbor “Coral”.  She was a chain smoker, whose husband died and my family helped take care of her and her Japanese Chin dog.  When it was time for her to get her hair or nails done, we would load up in the Buick and head to downtown Branson.  Who are we kidding?  When I was a kid, that was the only place to go anyway.

In exchange for enduring the scent of rose smelling perfume to mask the scent of Misty Slims, she would often treat us to ice cream.  Most often to Ice Cream at Mr. B’s!

Today when we walked in, it was as if Coral was still alive.  The place had not changed in many decades!  I was ready for Marty McFly to jump out in his life jacket or Mayor Goldie Wilson to drive by in his sedan encouraging us to vote for him!  I wanted there to be a juke box playing “Sha’boom”.

The biggest different today, was that I had to pay instead of Coral.

“A refreshing experience on a hot day”  -Jaime

—Things to Know
Time Required: Fast Treat.  Obviously the line will determine the speed in which you order.
What to Bring: An appetite.
Other Good things to know:  It might be a little hard to get a stroller in, but you could do it.Downtown Branson and it’s lack of Public Restrooms is a known problem.  There is NOT a public restroom inside.

They have a note for people with nut allergies.

Discounts Available: I didn’t notice any coupons anywhere, but these prices are great in comparison to most ice cream places we have been to.
—Cost
Prices: I took a picture of the menu.  Jaime and I commented that the prices were very reasonable.  I think for all 6 of us, it was a nice treat for around $13.  You can see the prices in the image above.
Discounts Available: As I mentioned, I did not find any coupons available.
Value for the Money: It wasn’t a 99p “flake” from a street vendor in London, but it was the next best thing!

Jaime's Take (the Mom)

It was a hot day today and this was a refreshing experience on a hot day!  The air conditioning was nice and cool. The prices were very reasonable.

Mark's Take (the Dad)

There is an ingredient in store-bought ice cream that doesn’t agree with me.  The owner told me of a non menu item gelato that they had which I could eat.  What a nice rare treat!
